Writing this as I listen, opening guitar sounds well recorded love the tone. At time the vocals sound like Dave Grohl, which is not bad. This has sort of an old feel at times with some added chromatic changes, and the riffs are well done. I applaud this.

I will make a choice for someone shortly and poast.

Post Re: Be My Bitch Thread: Mr Snax entre
I find the vocalist almost unintelligible at times, to the point I couldn't tell he was singing in English the first time through the intro. Oddly, I don't mind the fairly obviously tuned vocals.

The very busy drums with the double kick are an interesting touch in this style. I'm actually going to pass this on to my drummer to see what he thinks.

This is obviously totally up my alley musically as, well, it doesn't sound too dissimilar to something I'd write. I'mma have to listen to the rest of the record.

Thank you for this. I'll dredge up something later this evening. :nods:

Oi Snaxo, tell me about this, eh?

I'd also be curious to hear what Herr O'Casm came and thought of it, err, come to think of it. Has he been in of late?

Sonically I like it straight off. Like all of what's going on. The vocal delay, the bass tone, the drums- which I initially assumed was a drum machine 'til the real cymbals kicked in. I am reminded of Siouxsie, early Sisters, Christian Death, etc.

I need to listen to this more than twice. :nods:

Sorry Cam- I totally forgot about this. Shit's been pretty hectic for me for a while lately.

Re: the song- there's not enough vocoded digeridoo in rock-and-roll.

I like the loopy drum layering. Low synth bass is low. And the arpeggiator thing that sound like an old arcade machine.

All of this with floaty ethereal reverb-drenched vocals over it. Oddly enough I hear a lot of '60s/Beatles going on here despite the electronics- it's the vocals, mostly, and to some extent the chord progression.

It's interesting, definitely. I don't know if it's something I'd listen to a great deal, but it's neat and somewhat far removed from my normal listenings. Not so much in the individual elements, but in the combination thereof- there's a chill psychedelia vibe here; the mellow major key thing. Is this representative of what they normally sound like?

Post Re: Be My Bitch Thread: Señor Snax, por favor...
No need to apologize, breh. :D Hope shit is cool on your end of things.

In terms of this being a representation of their music: For this album, yes. For the general sound of the band, very much no. They have done lots of different sorts of things (this album being the most conventionally pleasant by far) throughout their career. From mildly to very looper based nutsypop to crazyass acoustic music. There is a large amount of crossover from album to album though, in regard to melodic sensibilities and their love of odd time signatures, samples and words. I really very much love most everything they have done. A lot of it is offkilter major key based stuff, which is pretty obviously: My fuckin' jamz. :red:

And it's funny that you mention the digeridoo, as one of the songs on the albums is like, almost ALL unaltered digeridoo samples sync'd to a truly fucked time signature.

To throw another one at you for a maybe more accurate representation of what they used to be more on about:

First time I heard this song, I was tripping tits on acid and my fucking brain exploded. But again, maybe not the best rep of their sound. For example, the album before this is much, much more organic and guitar based whimsical, childlikewondertunes, and the one before that is all acoustic freak folk-ish (if I am properly using the term) bizarre stuff.

EDIT: Ah and to clarify, the new song I posted is from the album previous to the original one I posted. Which is why it is so very different.

Post Re: Be My Bitch Thread: Herr Hell, back at ye, avast!
Ah, the way the percussion builds in this is very much to my liking! The chikkachikkachikka hi-hat with the eventual half time kick and snare thing is dope. Both of which (kick and snare) are properly scuzzed up and nasty. :huzzah:

Lovely voice as well, but not really in a conventional way. There's a tad bit of nasallyness there that I like to hear in vocals (there is a reason for this, self-projection :red:). I assume she is not singing any actual words here? No beef with that. Vocal harmonies are like, my fucking favorite thing ever as well, so it is nice to hear some here. I am kind of catching some Warpaint-ish vibes here now that I think about. Just, if Warpaint traded their guitars for synthesizers.

Composition and it's progression are nice, I dig it. :huzzah:

It is becoming apparent to me lately that I need more good music with ladyvoices in them, because I really like them a lot.

And so speaking of which:

Knowing you, this is pretty much a surefire enjoyable listen.

One of a few songs that have been really deeply stuck in my skull lately.
