That is indeed quite amuse. My favorite though, is when bands do have a real drummer play, but on like an electronic kit, triggering, well... EZ/Superior.

I have to say, i think i am growing to kind of hate djent music. I may just be extra curmudgeonly lately though.

To be honest, I hate most non-Meshuggah djent.

I'm getting pretty sick of it too. One thing that saddens me is generally, they either are straight ripping off Meshuggah or coming at it from a screamo point of view. I wish folks would give it a little more death. I have been doing that, so maybe I should be glad that I have a niche for my music that no one knows about... And I hope those of you who are also getting sick of it won't be too put off by it in my own music. I didn't do it THAT much, or that overtly, anyway...

But seriously, the genre is destined to fail. It is just so damned specific.

The way you use it is to add a cool flavor that works with your prog tendencies as well, you don't rape the Djentgoat for that "trend factor", besides the sonics of it work with your subject matter. Kaleb has been messing with the djent thing, but it's just to mix up the riffage. But an entirely djent band is likely to suck dickass, bro.
