You know, I have never actually sat down and listened to Adore. Ever.

Totally different than any other Pumpkins record. It's half acoustic and half gothtronic. And daaaaark. Honestly the live versions are a bit- no, a lot- more rocking and really don't represent the album I don't think.

I have heard the album version of Perfect and Adore (obviously) and it is definitely such a weird direction. I mean there were previews of it, like Perfect is largely in the vein of 1979 IMO, and there are some weird things going on during Mellon Collie that show signs of the sound on the song Adore but it remains quite odd.
Mellon Collie was before Adore, right? I honestly don't know the chronology of the discography well. Though I suppose I could just wikipedia it but that's no fun.

It's weird for me to think that Siamese Dream led to Mellon Collie. I mean seriously, what the fuck happened to the band (or Billy, I guess) in between albums?

He continued to be a depressed perfectionist, like most great musicians.
Adore will forever be a bitter-sweet favorite of mine.

Yeah, but I mean in terms of his growth in songwriting. SD is largely sweet, fuzz drenched rock songs, ya know? Then the motherfucker is unfurling these epic ass compositions. Something happened there, IMO.

Re: Perfect
I've not really listened to SP much since the whole Devi-Ever debacle which highlighted how much of a cockbag Corgan is I do like Gish and SD though, I just can't tolerate his voice as much.
I really love Corgan's voice when he's utilizing it correctly, which is most of the time. Sometimes it's even too grating for me but it's whatevs, it never ruins a whole a song for me or anything though.

It's probably my favorite Pumpkins record. It's just right up there with Disintegration in terms of though.

Devi-Ever is also an internet drama queen.
Corgan was an absolute dickface though.

Devi and Billy are perfect for each other. They should wed. Added bonus: the barren nature of the union.
This video series from the OP, is amazing.

I am laughing my ass off at this. Because it's true. Now, I am inclined to like Billy Pumpkin as an artiste, but he has always struck me as kind of a bag-of-dicks as a person. I am also rather inclined to like Devi as an artiste in her way (and actually like a few of her paintings as well) but yeah. On the list with Messers. Vex, Rock-a-forty et al. Though none have achieved Dumble status. Billy and Devi would make such a cute couple. awww. At least if Billy still had hair.
On a related note, I did watch the videos and yeah, they are awesome. A very different vibe than the album, though, as I noted prior. I think they're probably truer to the spirit of the band in that they are rockinger, more grandiose bombastic melodrama than the album, which mostly is a sad thing that makes me want to shoot myself in the face.
EDIT: oh, wait, you're talking about the Guy On A Buffalo videos. I'm talking about Sardo's live Pumpkins from the Adore record.
I think I left my brain at home today.

Yarr, I am definitely talking aboot the buffaloman videos. I kind of hate Adore. I am one of the few who broke it off with W.Corgan after Siamese Dream. He is one of those people for whom i have a very limited use, and from whom i only enjoy a small window of sounds.
