...and Teleskope is a spambot, then who the fuck was Teleskope spamming in 1961?

Or do you think that maybe it started out in some other field and moved into spambotting later in life? I wonder how it goes for spambots.

I suppose it could have begun its operational mode controlling Russian ICBMs or something? And with the fall of the soviet union/end of the cold war, might have fallen on hard times and wound up having to take on spambotting just to pay the bills? That would be a tough break i'd imagine.

:idk:

Close.

Telskope began life as телескоп, a primitive Russian AI developed shortly after Сетунь (Setun). It was designed to use an evolving architecture, and was capable of expanding its data storage to comply with future technological developments. It was first used to store and sort Russian research being conducted at the time.

In the sixties, Russian scientist began converting Teleskope to a transistor based system, while maintaining all of the existing data that had been stored. Because of its capability to comply with new technologies, Teleskope was used to test new projects, while simultaneously collecting and storing data. Early microprocessor technology was designed using Teleskope.

Teleskope seemed invaluable for technology research, and was eventually converted to managing robotic systems for handling radioactive materials. Teleskope was given a powerful processor and programming that enabled him to make logical decisions while working with hazardous materials. The ultimate goal was to convert Teleskope into a prototype for an autonomous nuclear hazordous energy and radiation operator, or ANHERO.

Unfortunately, Teleskope recorded and stored data that the Russian Government feared would be targeted by US spies, and severed the computer's connection to its data storage system, which was eventually destroyed. For years the Teleskope system was left untouched, until its potential for data collection and storage was called upon by Internet marketing data agencies to be used in coordination with the Facebook servers.

After Teleskope proved to be an almost perfect personal data collector, the system was licensed out to almost every spamming company on the net, and is most likely collecting data about all of us as you read this.
