The other day I had to fabricate a plectrum out of a hotel key-card. This would have made my life easier: http://gearpatrol.com/blog/2011/05/13/p ... rum-punch/

Nice! I have a couple cards that came with a neck i bought that have precut picks that you can pop out, same thing, basically just a credit type card but with no metal strip and just an ad for the guitar store on it. I just keep one in my wallet all the time, and it has actually been useful when i forget or lose a real pick away from home. |

I felt the same way, but pics made out of these little cards are actually not too bad. The shitty one I fashioned with a pair of scissors worked surprisingly well, but did get worn down super fast. I figured this would be good to keep in a gig bag as a just in case sort of deal. |

This. Cool concept but I really don't dig the feel of that. |

I'd be afeared of them being too thin and floppy. I like stiff dicks. WAIT WUT |

would do good in a pinch, I used to be very picky with my picks, while I am to an extent, I change varying thicknesses, and points of the picks for different songs. I usually use a Dunlop .73 grippy pick, but use the round side (by the grip) which is more stiff like the heavy pick, but then switch to the thinner part if I'm hitting a more strummy part. I also do a shit load of finger-picking/chickenpikin shit now. |
