Things I am looking for: Odd World Music type shit Anything with interesting tapping/tortured whammy/harmonic shit/bendyness guitar playing Super fucking evil and angry death metal/grind in the vein of Morbid Angel/Napalm Death Really psychedelic shit, whether it be of the poppy or jammy variety Basically anything completely out of the ordinary in terms of fucked up instrumentation/textures |

Poppy psychedelic(ish) : 1. Dungen - Ta Det Lugnt (new-ish but sounds sixties old) 2. The Pretty Things - S.F. Sorrow (sixties old, a little different than something like Sgt. peppers, though it was recorded in the same studio at the same time with many of the same engineers and shit) 3. Tame Impala - Innerspeaker (you may have heard it already, it was bouncing around the audiowaves a lot a few months back) 4. Genesis - Nursery Cryme (kind of prog psych ish, Phil Collins as a fucking beast youngdude drummer, plus a young and fantastic Peter Gabriel on vox) |

Another psychish rock one: The Black Angels - Phosphene Dream It is new, sounds new, but clear lineage of older psych/rock stuff. Has some nice "mood" sort of sounds on it. |

Have i told you to acquire: Tim Hecker - An Imaginary Country, yet? (It is a strange kinda ambient record in which not a lot happens, but which somehow manages to be pretty sweet anyhow) |

I do not have any of the last three you mentioned, and I am not opposed to the noise in that video. However, how much I would find myself actually listening/enjoying such a thing is questionable. And no, but I'll check out that out. |

Yarr, the two vids are of a specific sort of sound. If you don't dig it, skip it. The locust is interesting to me, for mixing soundtextures that don't fit, into punk rock sorts of frameworks, but if the sound isn't one that is interesting to you, you don't need anything from them. Retox is just a solid modernpunk sort of band i dig, also totally skippable if you don't like the sound. |

I can't do that epic whistling shit in controlled melodic fashion or very strongly but I can get a fairly weak whistle with more or less no pitch control. However, that ridiculous raspy as all fuck voice I can do all day and with pretty good pitch control. |

This is something with kind of worldmusic elements to it: Though you might not dig it at all? ![]() In general soundsthatilike sorts of things, this record(Supermodified) has some of my favorite texture mixtures on it, very cool idea mixings: |

This record(Boards Of Canada - Geogaddi) has a wonderfully unsettled sort of mood to it, warm but kind of fucked up: |
