I have been watching their live videos over and over again. Half because the music is so great and half because I have a crush on the bird-like lady who's always rocking the Jazzmaster (though just singing on this). This particular song I find the be the most fantastic.

Yarp, Joe Lally is one of the kings of the singsong-y bassline that meanders its way along at a different sort of pace than everything else in the song.
Probably something like solidly about a third of my bassthoughts derive from Fugazisounds.

Yeah, he is probably my favorite rock bassist alongside Chris Squire of Yes. Not two incredibly dissimilar approaches to the instrument, actually. Those two, but mostly just Joe's stuff influences the grooves I play when I pick up my bass, which isn't incredibly often. Mostly just with the intention to write bass lines for an already completed song which is too bad because it's a fun instrument and good writing tool.
Ha, this song is kinda cool. Never listened to this before. That bass tone is fucking gnarly. I like that super attacky pointy bass sound in angry music.

Oh man, i listened to that record a lot of times in 1992-3. I don't think i have listened to it since, but it is weird how clearly you remember the sounds of something, even so long after.
