I have been listening to this all fucking day. Blows my fucking mind. Production is absolutely fucking ace, as well. Snare/tom 'verb is out of this world.

That is truly a fantastic snare sound. Kind of an albini/electrical-esque body to it, but with a much nicer crisp crack.

I do like when occasionally a band decides to mix their shit snare first, relatively burying the guitars and the rest of the drums.

Surprised to learn that these guys are from boston. I have become such a curmudgeon/hermit, i don't even know what is going on in my own locality, music-wise.

I do not know their popularity on that side of the U.S. but they are not particularly popular here, but definitely have some fans. Actually, Shucks (band Alex plays bass in, Colin plays drums in, and my roommate Ryan guitars in) played with this band quite a few months back at a house show up north in Bellingham. I was absolutely blown away by the accuracy of their performances, but for whatever reason I have just kinda put off really putting in the time to check them out.

Their other shit is definitely sick, but this particular song is like crack for me. Sounds like unadulterated glory to my ears.

Woke up with the chorus melody stuck in skull.

Always preferred the early ones over the one that actually wound up on a record:

Concurred, those are some excellent sounding drumsmacks. :nods:

Either version, it doesn't matter.

This is a good toon, in either format. :nods:

Was in Montreal over the weekend, turned on the radio and heard the tail instrumental end of this song...

Guitar playing is just sublime.

This was my favorite band when I was 16. Totally swore it off soon after, along with the swoopy hair. But FUCK. This shit is heavy as hell, and the production is ace as hell. ALSO, bonus points for being tracked live, which is fucking bonkers.
