Re: AMT Stonehead Sounds pretty okay to me. Maybe a little too much scritch/dirt. Would be interesting maybe hearing it with a few different cabs/speakers.
Works well enough like that in the mixed one though, at least as well as an AxeFX for that sort of sound.
In general, AMT seems to do some nice stuff, and not to be too pricy. At first it seemed like they were just going to do dozens of those "JFET ampsim" pedals, but they have been stepping out of that mold a bit lately and just making cool shit in general, like this map. Also, have you seen the wacky tiny wah?
And for realz, no SS amp should be any bigger than that. I have never understood the Crate GX130C style SS head format. It totally torpedoes one of solid state's biggest pluses.
