So I got a Parker P-38 a few months ago. I bought it new back in the day and sold it to a buddy and then ended up buying it back. When I got it back the electronics were messed up. He had cut the battery clip and then just twist tied the wires back together I took it into the local shop (where I bought it actually) and said to rewire the electronics and do a setup on it. I got it back and everything was ok except for the piezo pickup. When I would switch to that it would make a terrible scratchy/wobbly sound and you could just barely hear the notes through the noise. I didn't want to mess with it and just was going to use the electronic pickups. Fast forward a day or two and it starts doing it on the electric pups as well, so I took it back in. He at first said it was the battery, and I told him I'd changed them out and it didn't make the noise on the electric pups all the time. He fiddled with it and then asked to keep it and look at it a bit more. After several days he said he thought it was the preamp and he'd called the company that bought out Parker but they wouldn't return his calls. He's no longer a dealer of them, so not sure if that has something to do with it. Anyway, he could not figure it out and gave it back. Well now I can't even play the damn thing. It's one of the best playing guitars I've ever laid hands on (dat neck profile ) but the noise is there at all times now, not juts every once in a while. I'm at a loss, so if any of you fine gents could possibly think of a solution, or have a set of SSH pickups you may want to part with, let me know.

hmmmm I would test the pups first, one by one on a meter. Do you have a gut shot of this? |

No gut shots but I can get them I suppose. I could also upload a clip so you can hear the noise if that would help. |

Ok, so I finally got time to take the guitar apart and get some pictures. I tried playing it right before and got a few clear notes out of it but it was generally either not getting any signal out to the amp but noise or the notes were very quiet vs noise. Here are the best pics that I could get. If you need anything else let me know. I've already got it pulled apart so it's nothing to get a couple more pictures or whatever. ![]() ![]()
