I quite like that Zubrowka, one of the few vodkas I can enjoy drinking. Best spirit I've had recently though is coffee tequila. It sounds like it's gonna be awful but it just tastes of cold espresso

Agin. Shit is reasonably tasty. My local finebrews establishment dina carry my preferred scotch ale with the viking onnit, but this is cheaper anyhow and pretty decent. 8% alcomohol is a bit more than i require for my porpoises tho. The Skullsplitter is more brutesy than that too, but just the same.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
Tonight, it seems I will be drinking multiple AMFs and some PBR for the second time.. Always a recipe for something interesting, think it's becoming a tradition. As some of you may know, shit is like, a variety of hard liquors with a squirt of super concentrated soda flavoring whatthefuckever. A couple pints of that shit and some bong tokes.. THAT'S WHERE WE SEPARATE THE MEN FROM THE BOYS. We shall see where tonight ends up.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
Weird. The name seems to be up yer hobo alley. Do they export this outside of the local area? Fruit beers are interesting. I don't usually drink beer, but when I do, it's interesting beer. For me, this: (Yes, intentionally stolen to eff with these assholes bandwidth ) Now, I am not historically a big fan, but I can get a very good deal on it from some South Asian folks and I find it actually makes a solid Manhattan- which really needs an American whiskey; Crown was my default choice when I was at a bar so déclassé as to not have goddamn Maker's Mark- usually the only good bourbon to be found, but this is better for the porpoise because, well, a sweet Canadian whiskey changes the vibe of the thing entirely. And I like Crown. A Canadian whiskey is as much a different animal as a Scotch is from a Bourbon though. My one friend- who will be playing violence- er, violin- on Cam's rekkid - turned me on to Old Fashioneds recently, and she usually gets those with Maker's, from a bartender who knows their shit and has a good selection behind them. To really do classic cocktails right, you need the right shit though. Otherwise you might as well have a rum-and-coke with well rum. You can do better; there is a complexity of flavour here besides the getting you wasted. That being said, I am swigging straight Jack because I can and got it fer cheep. How rock-and-roll.

Just a little Stoli and OJ last night. My drink of choice while up in Boston was Makers & coke, I did wash it down with a few Jamesons, but only because our female fill in wanted shots of Jameson, and I can hardly turn her down. She is a bad ass and I love her. Good thinkg about the Beantown gigs is we usually get a few rooms there and I can get my drink on.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
As an aside, I heart the Asian People Liquor Store. Because they are open every day for what I assume is as long as the state allows*. Even on holidays when there is nothing else to do. I'm sure they make a killing as they are always busy- especially when nothing else is open. I hit the place up earlier as, well, nothing else to do. I think that's just good sense as a retail operation; you're guaranteed to do business. I wonder, for example, about music stores that open and close early during the week. If I had a guitar store, I will not open at 9 and close at 6. *- New York State, for non-residents, is a little weird like that, and local regulations come into play too. Bars in Buffalo are (officially) open 'til 4 and (officially) serve whatever 'til then. But you can't buy beer in a store after 3 or wine & booze after 12. But quasi-wine you can buy in some places like beer and it's not really real grown-up wine and you can buy beer with a greater %ABV.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
Been liking the ciders of late. Two of my sisters have had them around. They have some of the things that i like about the taste of wine in them, but with none of the mind-cleaving headaches that that beverage provides me. They are supposed to be reasonably alcoholic, but to be honest, i have never gotten even the slightest buzz off them. Which, because of the way my brain is broken, i find to be a positive.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
I don't think I've had coffee in almost a year now. I quit it for a couple months and then made the mistake of ordering a bigass one which I quaffed in short order figuring, y'know, I do this all the time. Felt like I just did some serious shit. I was very freaked. I think I have actually had caffeinated beverage once since the summer. I'm like some sort of strange reverse-straightedge who doesn't have caffeine or eat meat but likes booze and smokes and whatnot.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
With wine, it's the tannins. Reds are worse. I like whites, and sweet ones, myself. Riesling being my favorite. For some reason wine will get me eff'd up in a way that hard liquor- my usual staple- won't. There is too much clarity of mind with the liquor, so I can consume enormous amounts and still appear sober. The wine makes me have to operate the ol' excretory system though because of the greater fluid volume, which I find highly annoying.
Ms. D and I like us some hard cider every once in a while. We usually get Hornsby's, and not just because it has a rhinoceros on the bottle. We have not had Angry Orchard, though I've heard it's good.

Yarr this one has got a bit of ginger innit, which i thought might make it kind of shit but it is pushed back enough in the mix that it just makes it swell.
Crispin also makes some tasty cidery things. I don't even know what all of the other ones i tried were. I should have been paying more attention. Several of them were delicious.
