Noted. This is useful and relevant information for snooty beverages.
I would like to add, also, that Elijah Craig 12 Year is very, very good and on the inexpensive side for what it is. Has a bit of a butterscotch note to it. It's well-suited to this time of year, methinks.

Homebrewed latte spiked with pumpkin butter along with some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies Alex sent me, probably two of the best tasting things I have ever put in my mouth.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
Never got on with Mr. Walker, I have to confess. Or blended Scotch in general save for Chivas Regal. Tastes like a campfire to me. Single malts are a different aminal. That being said, Johnnie Walker was good enough for Winston Churchill, who drank an awful lot of it every damn day, and that must count for something. Of course, scotch snobs would say bourbon is made from livestock feed and whose idea was it to distill corn juice anyhow? so what do I know? Myself, plain ol' dihydrogen monoxide.

Red wine, homebrew, courtesy of Ms. Jessica's dad. It's a Cab Sauv/merlot blend. It's alright. A bit dry, but not excessively so. It is headache juice if I have the whole bottle though- too many tannins. She's having box wine at the moment, which is sweeter. Spiced rum-and-Coke fer later.

Currently, a festive combination of coffee with a hefty amount of hood eggnog in it.
Tastes like melted coffee icecream mixed with melted vanilla ice cream.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
This was the smallest one i could find: Normally, i would get it in 12oz bottles, so i almost didn't get it, but i did anyhow, and now i have got to deal with it. It is a little different every year, this year, kind of a stout in appearance, kind of a brown ale w/ extra spices in flavor. It sure is a shitlot of it tho.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
If the local place has any more i will get you one. Last i was there it didn't look like they had any left though. Though it may also be that they just re-shuffled the display sheffs to move the xmas/holiday sorts of jam out of the prime storespots. I have actually been liking this rye IPA from sierra nevada. Basic vibe is IPA, all day long, but there are definitely some odd things going on with the flavors. Almost like a toasty peat sort of angle, like you would find in a scotch ale. Almost adds a caramel/sweet angle to the über bitter ipa hop thang. And it is a good thing i like it actually, because it looked interesting and i wanted to try it, but the smallest form they had it in was a twelve pack, so i would have had quite a few to brawl through, if it wounded up being shitty. IPAs can be a bit of a gamble, IMO. Some brewers seem to think it is a competition between them to see who can get dumbasses to buy the most bitter shit they can brew.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
yeah, just being bitter does not make a great IPA. I generally love "hoppy" beers much more than "malty" but there are some that are just "what the fuck were they thinking?" too bitter. About my favorite is still Dogfishhead 60 minute. I do have a 90 minute sitting in my fridge right now though
