Dogfish's 90 Min is definitely my favorite of the properly heavy hoppers. The 120 min was definitely wayyy too much bitterness(i bought a four pack and just finishing four was kind of brutal), but i think that the 90 is just about ideal for a heavy/imperial IPA. And for all of its hops, it doesn't actually just taste like a gigantic liquid grapefruit rind, which seems to be the problem that a lot of the brewers run into, that they use so much hops that they forget to make the beer taste like anything else while they are in there.

Shit, I haven't had a beer in forever. But given my tastes are either Chick Drinks or Aircraft Fuel, IPAs, porters, stouts and the like are my choice if it comes up. I want to taste the damn thing.

I actually have a good liquor collection going right now. Bombay Sapphire, Four Roses Bourbon, Havana Club white rum, Wiser's whiskeh... But I've been too busy to really nail any of them.

It is kind of delicious. IPA, but smoover somehow. Hoppy wifout feeling hopviolent.

The can really should be that gigantic, though. Because it looks like it would be about three liters of beer, and a fine blunt object, to boot.

Hey man, i am with you on this.

It would most certainly pass the "could i render a motherfucker unconscious or dead mostly only with the weight inherent in the object?" heft test that i kind of unthinkingly always run on any object i purchase. I used to think it was maybe slightly crazy, until my older sister basically said that she does the same thing. It is a natural thing. A serviceable method of determining quality, IMO.

Also, i would probably drink three liters of this, sure. It has a light summery quality to it. Billed as a spring beer, but i think i would like it moast in the hottimes of propersummer.

"You could beat someone with this thing" is a measure not only of weight, but sturdiness as well. There's plenty of things that have mass but are lacking in other structural qualities that would make them an effective improvised weapon. Passing the "you could beat someone with this thing" test seems to be a universal mark of quality for whatever the object in question is, no matter its intended purpose. I can't think of a case where it isn't. Because we don't make pillows out of iron. Not on this planet, at least.

I was trying to figure why i thought that looked more delicious than normal beer-in-a-glass-next-to-its-bottle pictures, and then i remembered that i seem to have a problem with being particularly and inexplicably brain magnetic towards green packaging. It is actually something that i have to be wary of when i go shopping for anything. And i don't know where it comes from.

Green is just regal and spectacular in every manner.

It's fucking good though, damn. You can really taste the maple. And it's got a pleasant sweetness too.

Noted re: the maple-aged whiskey. Aside from being very Canadian, that would have a totally different flavor than oak, I'm sure- is it what I'd expect from maple, sorta maple sugar-y?

So, we're planning on watching a bunch of Game Of Thrones later, and there's about one glass of wine and enough rum for one rum-and-Coke left in the house. This is not acceptable. However, we do have a fifth of peppermint schnapps- it was free. I have no idea what to do with it as we're kinda lacking in cocktail mixers, and it's peppermint, anyhow. Hot chocolate, perhaps? I've heard of this being done. Coke? Would that be horrid? That's about it, I think, save for serving it on the rocks in a whiskey tumbler.

I'd probably water peppermint Schnapps down with soda water. Maybe it'd suck, but it seems like it's worth a shot.
