I feel this really needs to be moved forward upon. And, of course, expanded to include other nations as well, and perhaps, given a suitable environment, reptiles. Basically, if it poses some sort of hazard to humans, it should be in cities. Even if it's a passive hazard รก la a herd of antelope just being wherever. |

Giraffes in Manhattan would be a nice proposal. Just walking around with their big clumsy feet/legs, knocking into folks bustling down the street. The good thing about giraves if the bums cannot beat them on the head with a brick. I endorse this proposal. |

I was thinking, wouldn't it be only just fair, that an equal number of the animals that cars and trucks are named after were inserted into the urban locales that their namesakes are in? For instance, all of those Chevy Impala police cars in Manhattan, every one should have a real impala counterpart in the same district; there are probably thousands, yes? See also: Dodge Ram, Plymouth Barracuda, Mercury Cougar, and of course, the Pontiac Firebird. It is also worth noting that Chevrolet once made a Bison truck... |

These are all fine suggestions. I like Chris's idea re: the barracuda- our inland waterways could use some sprucing up. Granted, there's probably some genetic modification necessary for the saltwater creatures to do their thing in freshwater, and it will take some time for the bigger ones to grow to full size- whales, sharks, giant octopus, the larger squid species- but we can certainly start out with piranha, alligators and crocodiles, walrus, hippopotamus, etc. Hippopotamus would make a fine invasive species. They are extremely large, foul-tempered, crap on everything, congregate in large groups, and forage on land at night. And there's precedent for it: http://colombiareports.com/colombia-news-lite/news/18562-pablo-escobars-hippos-make-their-discovery-channel-debut.html |
