That is a little expensive for me ( ), but the concept is entirely sound. Multimeter fuel gauge is fantastic. Not as into the duct tape support of the hood gauges. Hand cut venting is wonderful. Probably wouldn't go for the wood air dam, but then that may be largely because i don't live in California, and that shit just wouldn't last around here. Those little RX7s are kind of sweet. Going 5.0L V8 kind of fucks up a lot about why they are sweet though. It does sound about eight zillion times nicer though. The rotaries are lightweight and efficient, but sound absolutely terrible through open exhausts. The V8 would be way lower maintenance also i think. I am thinking there must be a cheaper way to get 400hp into a Mazda though. Most of the 13k he mentions is in and around the motor i'd say. |

Can't you throw conventionally retarded amounts of boost at those rotaries without them having problems? |

Yeah, they can take some beating, but i don't think they will go 400 without some serious rebuilding, and probably a drastic reduction in reliability. A newer RX7 turbo motor will go there easily, but to get one into an older car like this, would probably actually end up costing a fair bit more than the V8 route, being that built V8s can be had all over the place, and the RX motors are a very niche/novel market compared. Been a while since i did any car stuff or knew in any detail what is out there these days for hooligans to work with motovehicularly though. |
