Post New Geetar Day
Picked up an Epiphone Firebird Studio today for $175.

Burstbucker in the bridge, "Some SD" in the neck and orange caps (apparently, I need to open it up to see if all this is true but it sounds good regardless). It also has locking tuners which I haven't IDed yet but they are solid and tune nicely. Its in pretty damn good shape, a couple of marks here and there and the Epiphone truss rod cover has been replaced with a Gibson one (I'll probably put tape over it) but overall it looks good.

It does neck dive a bit, which I expected. I MIGHT get the top strap button moved from the top horn to the back of the neck like on my talman, which feels like it would balance it out nicely. It is a heavy sonofabitch for sure.

I'll take pics at some point when light is better and we aren't in the middle of moving, but it looks like dis:

Through my shitty at home amp it is all sorts of dark and chunky sounding. I am pumped to try it through the bright Tron map.

Not a bad score, considering the pickups alone new would have cost you what you paid for the whole thing. :tu:

The strap button definitely belongs on the back with a neck-heavy guitar. My Dot Studio is rather neck-heavy- it's a surprisingly heavy guitar in general, as all of mine seem to be (apparently I just have a tonal preference for heavier vs. lighter guitars?) but it balances nicely with the strap button on the back. I intend to use it at my next show.

Very nice sir. I do like my guitar with a bit of mahogany. ;)
