For me, these are the two best songs and albums of the year. What do you guys think are the best things you've heard from this year? I always feel I go through the year not finding any good music but this year has been alright with PTH, Clutch and Fuzz. There must be more good stuff I've missed. |

Apparently, everything i thought was from 2013 was actually from 2012. Actually the only 2013 rekkid that i even remember was the new Carcass. And aside from the basic existence of a new Carcass album being amazing in and of itself, it was just okay, soundwise.

Hrmm... New stuff from 2013 I listened to more than once? New NIN, Daft Punk, Depeche Mode, Nick Cave, Goldfrapp, the above-mentioned Carcass, that record David Lynch did that Geoff posted a while back... Oh, and the Russian Circles rekkid I posted earlier. I czeched out Steven Wilson's solo record, The Raven That Refused To Sing, but it was too weedly-prog veering into fusion-y at times for my tastes. Most of the stuff I discovered in 2013 wasn't from 2013. Of records that came out in 2013, the only thing that was new to me was that David Lynch thing. Even then, it's only half-new as I'm well aware of David Lynch and am definitely a fan... Just had no idea he was a musician.

Yep I always do that and feel like I must have missed out on a load of good stuff, but then maybe I'll just discover good 2013 stuff this year instead
