Last night i built this:

Which is basically a modded four knob rat thingamabob. Fun.

But which is also not even partly as nerdy as the things i built last week or so:

:red:

What nerdy thing or things have you accomplished then?

Lulz/Auwsums.

:isay:

I want to build me a Big Muff, then a Fuzz Factory.

Also, I got the faceplate in for my map, turns out I can't use the fender skirted numbered knobs (really fucking expensive) so I will not have numbered indicators. But, I also won't have to drop $40 on knobs

Yeah, i refuse to spend moar than a buck on a knob, myself. I wish that the knurled metal telecaster ones were a lot less money, also.

Also also, i forgot, are you intending to build a straight up Muff? Or one with some whistly bells innit, like the BYOC?

Old school straight up muff, then I will probably mod it with a mid boost knob/switch.

Triangle version most likely.

Sweet, that is what i did too. I am definitely going to go back in some time and do some tonestack switchy mods and mayhap some clipping switchy mods as well.

Building the Rat helped to make me realize that i have moar use for an overdriveflavored distortofuzz than a straight up fuzz fuzz, about 80% of the time. I built the Muff like a couple years ago i think? And i have only used it a few times. It does what it does awesomely, but i personally don't have the need for that burly fuzzfuzz all too often. I would use mine a lot more if it could do moar the boost and overdrive thing that you can get with the modded ones.

And ideally, then i want to have that shizz all switchable so that that other 20% of the time, i could still get that big burly big muff fuzzery sound as well.

I am totally going to rape my signal with : Clean Boost (DIY) > OD (DIY) > Muff (DIY) - Fuzz Factory (DIY) > various modulations > Map. I will use the Cerberus second channel as my straight up distortion though.

It was all just Geoff belting it out at 5 am. :monocle: My mom commented on the noise the next day. Like, "were you... um... 'singing'?"

I finished my project for accounting class. I also had an in depth discussion today with some of my bros about the merits of 5.45x39 versus 5.56x45
