I am currently rusty on the ampstuff. They are too expensive for me to be able to build enough of them to keep myself busy. So i just build piles and piles of pedals i will never use.

came from the one of the orignal transformer suppliers for matamp, and uses a quad of el34s... etc etc.
Ps, sick deal on those transformers. 390$ Canadian shipped from the factory in Huddersfield, and 60$ in customs fees. So 450 flat abouts. Compared to some knockoffs made by mercury for 600 USD BEFORE shipping, conversion, and customs? Yeah.

In troof, i dunno shit about Matamps, so i would never have guessed it.

I only guessed it because the peanuts were green and it's an old design with green in the name.

The Matamp GT120 is VERY similar to an Orange GRO100 (pre '73, graphics only, FAC knob after 1st gain stage, as opposed to after 2nd gain stage found in the OR120's)

Primary differences:
1. Capacitors on FAC knob are different values, and not in series, however they add up to about the same capacitance value +10% - i did the math in an excel sheet
2. Matamp has a 4 way rotary "drive" switch which essentially bleeds current from the input stage AND disconnects/reconnects the bright cap in 4 combinations (bleed + bright; bleed + no bright; no bleed + bright; no bleed + no bright).
3. Coupling caps are 0.047 uf instead of orange's 0.068
4. phase inverter is dc coupled with an inductor, orange's were AC coupled with less inductance from 71-72, and no inductance 73 onward. I will probably be modding mine with a switch to try both AC and DC. Because why not.
