The Strat's easy to diagnose. Ummm... the jack you soldered and resoldered a thousand times ist gefuckt, and in attempting to repair it you noinked the wire off the volume pot, and... really, it just needs new pots and a new jack, which you have but have not connected.

The AC30... well, we'll see tomorrow. It keeled over before the show tonight; my drummer drove me home, I snagged my Pod XT, plugged my pedalboard into it and ran an... shock and horror! AC30 emulation set mostly clean-ish straight into the board. And had our FOH guy give me a metric fucktonne of guitar in my monitor.

It turned ON... but no sound. Tube or fuse?

BALLSACK. :hitler: :mad:

On the plus side, the show went over well. And the drummer was either blinded by the lights (like a douche in the night) or watching the dancing girls in front the whole time (and we had them!) to not notice if he got some... er, upskirts as my dress kept riding up in the back. :wall: :hypno:

It's not the mains fuse, that's fer sure as it's... Turning on. Thankfully I have a full re-fuse (AC30s being what they are) and retube on hand... actually a floor up from me; I am sitting in the stairwell at the Snaxodrome on my laptop. I don't feel like pulling the chassis right now; I'll come back in the afternoon.

If it's anything else it's a sign from Dinosaur-Riding Zombie Jebus that AC30s are the equivalent of The One That Got Away and I should settle down with a Bogner Shiva because it was my first true love. AC30s are that tranny guitarist/keyboardist when I really should have gone with that stable reliable artist girl called the Shiva. Even if she does play World Of Warcraft. (read: have a master volume.) :red:

Well, we'll see after I pull the chassis- which is necessary to get at anything in an AC30- whether it says "there's an obvious problem!" (I think I had a microphonic pre tube to begin with) or if it tells me "fuck off, you polesmoking douche-spigot".

I've never beaten a man to death with an output transformer, but the notion is oddly appealing. Now... Just who to clobber...

Yes, actually, on this street I should, far enough in either direction. If nothing else, City Hall (a gorgeous building, by the by) isn't far from here. :red:

Anything in this city built pre-1950 is. And we have a lot of it. Which is, unfortunately, literally bad for business as there's a huge chunk of the city on the National Register Of Historic Places and the regulations involved make people less inclined to purchase said property and put things in there. This came up in conversation the other day.

Sorry to hear of the issues. I hate that. I am lucky enough to have my rebel 20 which I throw in the car when gigging. I've never needed it, but it's there in case I run into an issue such as you had. My 6100 gave me a shit load of trouble for a bit it kept blowing fuses (still powered up too) and I ended up keep a lot of fuses on me then finally replaced the power tubes again (it was a bad new tube that caused the problem) and it has never given me trouble since.

Also, I am hoping your dreummer got us some nice upskirt shots :D

Hmm. Hopefully it is not some sort of sadness brought on by attenuator use.

It is possible that you blew a fuse in the power section or one protecting OT, if the Korg has them innit. I don't remember if it does or not.

Whatever testing you do with it, remove the attenuator from the equation for now, anyhow. Some amps don't like them. What wattage is the attenuator, anyhow? And what impedance load are you using for it?

The first test for "is the amp working"? was to disconnect everything- attenuator, pedalboard, channel jumper cable- and plug straight in with the Les Paul Custom. Nothing. I'll go test it out in a bit when I'm done with my coffee.
