I have a computer, with a lovely Auzentech bravura sound card valued at 100$. It has an integrated headphone amplifier. It sounds good. Plus its easy to swap the caps and opamps at my will, its a tinkerers soundcard. It sounds very good.
I just came into possession of a good looking Geekpulse XFI DAC valued at $2400. Yes it includes a 3' long, 100$ yellow usb cable which is a total crock of shit. It has a volume knob, and ignores my windows volume controls, so i have to reach for the knob, which isn't a bad thing because a nice feeling knob is all I really wanted.
I cannot hear the difference between the two. At all. I've really only tried my Audio Technica ATH-AD900X headphones, but they aren't exactly the same tier as the DAC.
Anybody have a high sample rate audio file they can send me? I NEED to justify owning this thing. Plus i love you guys, and you always have solid advice so
