Yup. He deeed. We knew it was coming, but it wasn't something we wanted to envision. But time passes, we grow older and the inevitable must come to pass. A god of rock has left us.

I kinda figured he knew, too. Went out with his boots on, as it were. Few regrets and no fucks given.
I see Motörhead in much the same way I do The Velvet Underground or The Stooges. It's not as if a ton of people bought those records, and the character or iconic image might outweigh the music in the popular imagination, but it's a fine body of work in its own right, and its influence reaches farther than one might expect. Punk, metal, and goth, certainly, would all be lesser were it not for that man's band and his contribution to our musical lexicon. Dude helped shape The Hard Stuff. A much better lyricist when in serious mode, and much more articulate person than his image would imply, as well.

This does seem to be his reputation, Everybody's Favorite Uncle of Rock and Roll. Seems such a simple lesson, right? Don't be such a and everyone will love you. Shame more people can't figure this out.

We have lost the baddest of badasses. May he rest in peace.
Dude toured up until 2 weeks before he died. Smoked 2 packs a day and drank a half gallon of Jack Daniel's every day.
And he died of cancer.
Like, how the fuck did he not die of alcohol poisoning or OD on speed? Dude was a legend.

Re: RIP Lemmy.
It worked for Winston Churchill? Presumably one has to be an old British hardass to pull this off.
