 I was indirectly asked to join a Ska band today. By the name of Bottle Cap Bandits. Local act that got some attention in years past, I think they are reforming.
They want me to play bass.
I am pretty sure they will be getting paying gigs, then again I am not so much into ska anymore.
I wonder if they are still trying to play ska, or if they would be willing to at least go for a more Streetlight Manifesto type deal ...

Re: I was indirectly asked to join a Ska band today. I'd have to buy giggable gear, I haz no bass map at the moment, nor a guitar map that would be very usable.
Also I would possibly want a 5-stringer for it.
Other than that and my lack of free time, there really is no other reason not to do it. I know one of the guys in the band and eh is pretty cool. I need to meet the new line up.
