You have been with me through sorrow and... greater sorrow. You punished my cochleae for many years now. Many beautiful, sad and violent things were mixed at least in part upon you. Now you are with my old iBook and my random Stratocaster and computer parts. Farewell, old friend. ...headphone recommendations, anyone? Something decent in the $100 range. Stick with my belovéd Sennheisers? Sony MDR7506? AKG K240? Grado SR60? Anyone know good big headphones? My Etymotics are lovely but not the same. |

The Grado SR80s are really tempting. I don't hear them mentioned much at all in the recording community, but they seem to have a really good reputation among the hifi crowd... |

Go with the tried & true, man. I love my HD280Pros. Although I almost never mix on headphones because they cause me to mix bass-heavy. But something has to be said about the clarity and punch of the HD280s. |

I love my Grado SR80s for listening to music and sort of mixing on. Not very good isolation though so they're not amazing for tracking in the same room as a loud amp. |
