So.

I have been doing a good job of saving up money and being able to afford things that I want  .

My new 40" HDTV is on the way (before anyone says waste of money remember I want to write for TV) and so the time has once again come upon me to decide what the next big purchase will be, and how much I need to put away each paycheck. Problem is, the next two things on my "List of Shit to Buy" are both fucking awesome and borderline necessary.

Item 1:

Image

The Fender Jazzmaster, my dream guitar.

So awesome, so perfectly crafted for my needs. It will be my next guitar. But, then there is item 2.

A PC. The one I have at home is like 8 poops on a poop boat. It is shitty. A new PC would afford me the luxury of being able to record music (Knope, I want to record something for that Jam but my PC can't handle Reaper running your badassery) and program drums via SD2.0. Also, I would build the PC myself.

Whichever I decide to go with, I am looking at ~$800 - $1000. This will be the most substantial purchase I have made since my last PC (~$1600 ) and will probably be the only purchase I can make until about January when my savings will recover.

So what says you, Maps?

My dream guitar, or a PC to record the stuff I have now?

Also, hookers and blow are already considered in my budgetary needs, so there is no need to add them to the poll.

If your computer can't even handle Reaper, you need a new one.

I agree with hiryuu, dream guitar can wait, you need to be able to record now. You have another guitar to get you recording so waiting on a new guitar will be just fine.

I typed up a long ass post outlining my plans to purchase a Xaviere JM-clone with 'buckers for an alternate tuning, then build a new PC and finally save up for my real Jazzmaster with JM pickups ... then clicked the "Full Editor" button instead of Submit.

I swear, I probably never posted like 1/3 of my responses because I didn't feel like retyping them after doing that.

Get the computer, faggot.
And get the Xaviere JM-clone.
If you don't like it I'll buy it.

Are you cool with an orange one with the wide-range 'buckers?

Hmm, doesn't work on this computer. Chances are these (work terminal) are setup to erase any temp. internet data.

But now I just tried it and it saved all of my text when it changed to the full editor? Maps.net, you chaotic mistress.

So some homeowners at the hotel want to trade me a micro-atx box in exchange for me setting up their printer on the wireless network. It has a floppy drive and a pentium 4 processor, and it doesn't turn on. I am thinking they might just have to pay me straight up.

Lawl, there was a thread at HCAF about how hipsters gravitate to the Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Mustang etc...

Get the computer. You already own a six string or two. The computer can do so very much.

Well I wanted a Jazzmaster way back before I was even hip, when I listened to probably the least hip music there is, ska.

Once again, hipsters just copies me.

Plus, it is just one of those guitars that works for a certain sound, a sound hipsters just happen to love. I guess you could compare it to metal-heads love of pointy guitars, jazz guys love of hollowbodies and local church worship band guys love of strats. They feel right and make the right kind of sounds for the music I make. :idk:

I  my Strat. And I suspect the good Doktor quite  s his as well. Yet I don't see either of us rockin' for the Jeebster anytime soon. :idk:

But yes, the stereotype is accurate. Though I think their Strats oftentimes have a humbucker in the bridge and something other than "Fender" on the headstock. Probably Suhr or Anderson or the like.
