It is as fine an apparatus as one could desire, assuming you know what you're getting into. It's loud as balls, and mostly clean unless you're at man-killing volumes. Or have the CC version with the master and whatnot. It also hearts distortion pedals.

It shall be used with OD pedals in a place where I can get ungodly loud (I use my drums in there all the time without a problem).
I imagine if I can whack the fuck out of a drumkit in my basement the AC30 should be fine, right?

'Twould work. It maxes out at the point where the drummer tells you to turn off. Not down, off. Because he can't hear his drums. Beyond that, it just gets moar distorted.

In NMV form, it's really not actually usable at low low volumes. You can't get "bedroom volume" out of it. You just plain won't get any sound. At low volumes it's kinda dark-ish; it loses a lot of high end. It goes from there to A Bit Too Quiet To Use With A Band to Just Right and then Turn The Fuck Down, Will You?

The AC30 is an interesting, quirky creature. As much as I love the thing and praise it to the skies I try to make a point of adding the requisite caveats.

Mainly why I am a bitch for MV amps.

I know it isn't exactly the most desired feature of an amp, but it is nice for those of us who have gay ass neighbors. Luckily, my upstairs neighbors are loud as hell, so I don't give a fuck if they give a fuck if I rock the fuck out.

'S like when I had the stoners living downstairs from me and my Mesa. That with Yellowjackets got turned way up... fairly often for having downstairs neighbors. They could give a shit and told me as much. That was not a bad situation. The 'drome made the big haus redundant and my being unemployed then made it impractical to maintain.

Compressor in the fridge is blown, though. A new one is imperative. The current one does a fine job of... storing a case of room-temperature water.

They're taking out the one wall that connects our kitchen and lounge so we'll have two rooms rather than three... as per our request. Gives us more space so the lounge isn't so cramped, and a fridge/microwave/coffee maker don't exactly take up that much space.

I highly praise and endorse this new 'Drome.

I am wondering if I should get a new laptop for recording instead of a desktop. It is going to be much more expensive then I planned, but then when I have the gear together, I can move it all to a storage shed/'drome setup so I can play loud and record in peace ... hmmm.

I love them, if you want loud cleans (something I used to very into) and you like to use pedals (something I am now getting more into) then they are pretty fucking nifty. I have to get an AC30 before I get one though, but those two together will require a muthafuckin' jam space. Imagine in stereo

I commonly crank mine to 10 to get crunchy tones. It's running at half power but at that point it's still loud enough to move furniture across the house.
