Ive been saving some cash and my computer died so I need a new one. I'm probably gonna get a laptop. My purposes for this computer is mostly for music and recording and writing. I also would be using it for school as two of my classes are paperless. Lastly, I would be surfing the net. I think i want a 13-15 inch. My budget would probably be around $1000 if i save enough by after christmas. so whats a good laptop

I'm in private catholic school haha so yeah paperless and i need a motherfucking laptop. mostly for recording and musical purposes but i also need one for school.

you should motherfucking buy my motherfucking laptop because its a motherfucking 2006 Lenovo and its motherfucking badass. It even runs motherfucking windows XP. $1000 and I'll throw in all the motherfucking VST I have too :tu:

I had one of these and sold it on Ebay about 3 years ago for > $400

It was used for Midi recording for many years. Studio One software. Glorious 4" of COLOR screen

I had a Commodore 64 for a while. The monitor actually had RCA inputs and made for one hell of a badass little TV.


It had PacMan. That was ages 8-12. Hours and fucking hours of PacMan

You could probably score a pretty decent machine for that these days if you don't give a shit about having the current latest and greatest.

Which, if you're not a gamer, you don't need, really. My MBP's an '07 and runs fine; the only gaming I'll do is nostalgiashit- NES/SNES ROMs, Marathon, Heroes Of Might And Magic, Civilization. I do have Angband and Dungeon Master kicking around somewhere, and Escape Velocity... I think I've only played them at work though. :lol:

Get something with a Core 2 Duo, stuff it with RAM, and if you're gonna record a decent speed hard drive. I can record 10 tracks at once into a G4 dual core with a 7200 RPM drive with no issues; it's a "tape machine" at The Snaxodrome with a couple fast drives. My bassist's old computer. A 5400 RPM drive on a much beefier machine can and will fuck up.
