I'm an asshole, so I make them come to my studio usually. Or I bring someone large and burly, which I am not. Both are basically intimidation tactics, and they work.

I'm going to give it a harsh looking over, and it will give it a play before handing over any cash.

I would love to plug it in, but the ad states the input jack is fucked ... hopefully it is just that. Also I am bringing my sizable roommate for teh backup.

Otherwise, all other CL deals I went to the person's house and tried out the gear. The last time was with the electronic drumset, where I showed off my horrible drumming skills to the owner's teenage daughter.
