Sennheiser HD280Pro or AKG 240. I've been liking the 240s a lot lately. Hunnerd bux for either. The Sennheisers are a closed 'phone with deep, deep low end (they actually seem bass-shy at first, I'll warn you. Then you realize you're hearing deep clear unhyped bass.) and crisp, detailed top, and the AKGs are an open 'phone- wider soundstage- with great mids. I could mix on either and be happy; they have their strengths and weaknesses compared to each other. |
