I used to always be forming bands or just got invited into bands from people that had seen me. After spending so many years in LA & Co people no longer just know me by name so now I audition. So I went on yet another audition today, and within 40 minutes of leaving the studio I had gotten an email from them asking for me to join them. The best part is it keeps me on a 100% audition rate. So now I am in another band. Once again just covers but this should keep me busy between the couple of bands. All these guys are young and they also have a chick singer to split up the set lists. |

That is pretty sweet. ![]() I hate auditions enough that i never do them. Which is unfortunate, because i wouldn't mind having a band to work things out with.

I am starting to whore myself out to local musicians. I miss having a band. |

I am liking this "having a band" thing. Between that and a handful of side projects with persons of known quality, I do not in any way miss the audition process. |

Ugh, I miss this. Writing music is my thing, and this is what I miss. |

All I really want to do is write/play music, make pretty pictures, read my books and party with my friends. And I'm... mostly there. My metalhead friend apparently has found a drummer that isn't him (not that he's a hack by any stretch! But his guitaring and songwriting are cool and different; as a drummer he's merely damn good.) and wants to resurrect our doom band. Which would mean I'm in three bands. Garda, the Gothic Bl00ze thing- and Dead Leaves In Fall, again. I think I want to weird up the latter even more by incorporating the noise rock thing I've been on about into my bassing for that band. My collaborator there is an Albini fan- for his engineering rather than his music, which he's not horribly familiar with (but would like, I think)- so I think he'd be down with it. |

Sounds wonderful. I like to have outlets for different material, mine is not as fortunate, it's just like 4 cover bands. 2 mains cover bands, one I sit in when they need a draw (I'm just there as a pretty face???) and the acoustic thing, which is on the back burner, because if you can play with loud mapz, well, then why play without them. |

I can't even get an audition anywhere There are no good musicians that I know of around here other than boring shred guys. Well I know one drummer but he always forgets changes in songs and tries to add too many fills in where they're not needed

We're pretty lucky here, I'm on Lng ISland where everyone seems to thinkthey can play, and we have craigslist here so it's easy to find people to play with. Do you have a local musicians paper or online source to find people to jam with? |

I assume you tune sexily as the lead tunist in that band? |

![]() Yeah we have a few online places but nobody wants a guitarist I'm gonna try again when I get myself a bass, probably easier to get into a band that way.

Learn bass and drums and you will always have a gig. Also, if you can sing backups on-key, bonus points. The quality of your voice doesn't matter as long as you can hit the notes. |

If I was more decent at guitar I could actually put together a pretty solid one-man rawk project without having to dick around with drum machine if I continue to excel at drums. This prospect has me very excited. |

I daresay I am the bestest tunist on Long Island. as a matter of fact I thought maybe Matt Bellamy was going to ask me to come up and tune his.

You're right, I have such flare and charisma for tuning. Would have stolen the show.
