Had this on another forum and it was pretty cool. I don't really have anything good, just a radioshack style amplifier I had to build at university I also have this design of a guitar I was going to build, but never got round to, which I suppose doesn't count, but it's my thread ![]() ![]() Essentially a prs but with pointier horns

I tend to make threads for recent buildmakings. Like my SLO pedal, or the bass build. My beloved Warmoth is by nature home assembled? |

Oh yeah. Chris also made a build thread about his pine telecasters and such. I guess this thread will fail then

I've never built a guitar, but I've built a house, a garage, and built various transportation toys (golf cart with Harley Davidson 1200 engine) EDIT: lack of sleep = wrong word used. |

My aim is to have built 100% of everything i use. I just like knowing how, and knowing that i can. Thus far, many compromises necessary, and so i have been focusing more on the musical gear aspect than the everything else aspect. Even still, i don't see myself making my own tuners, tubes, or strings any time soon. But, just about anything else, i have either done already, intend to get to soon/eventually.

I am not that handy, or rather I should say I don't currently have time to try any builds. I have done the prepackaged mods like Allums but that's a s far as I've gone recently. |

I'm assuming you plan on doing these in the reasonably near future, though, correct? Correct?

I'm assuming the tuners and strings? Those you'd only need a decent metal shop and some way to draw wire for, no? The tubes... Well, you'd be a goddamn champion if you made you own tubes.

Actually, tuners and tubes. The tuners for machining experimentation, the tube for the epic sense of self satisfaction. It wouldn't have been like a 12AX7 or anything, but like an oldschool huge single triode. Then someone posted a video of a dood making exactly one of those, and i was like er... no. Needs all kinds of specialty spot welding shizz and other odd bits. Not worth it just for the epic sense of self satisfaction.

OH SNAP. What a cool fucking site. ![]() Blacktron was the SHIT. Also, I had some Lego cars that GM ended up actually building, some fifteen years later. Like the spitting image. Can't find them. |
