an ac30 and a tele? Because, i fucking love the dirty tones i get from this configuration, and that would be awesome if i could boost it and play metal with it too. the thing I love about it is the crunchy, bright, snarly, raunchyness. |

Understandable. I want a similar setup myself, I just need to get back into guitar playing serious again before I think about buying that shit. I've just been banging away on the drums non-stop. |

Dude, I need to learn something other than guitar, but everytime I have money I could spend on a say electric drumset or someshit, i spend it on something else guitar related. |

Yes, just put an od20 in front of any amp and it will sound metal. /thread |

No, an AC30 and a Tele will never ever sound heavy. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13184331/Graphite_inprogress_10_4_2.mp3 Heavy with an AC30 and a Tele is unpossible. |

Kaleb is fairly set on using a Tele in addition to his baritone for tracking our slamming brutal death metal demo.

Just buy a Gorilla amp and plug it into a 3x8 cab. |

I wish I still had the Twin metal clip.... The chain was guitar > OD808 > Digitech GSP-5 with the parametric EQ on boosting the fuck out of 1.5 and 1.3 khz > Twin with every volume knob maxed. |

A Tele, with a proper rig, would be a djent machine. That bridge pickup is ballsy as all get out. A Tele though high gain is a pretty hateful sound. I approve of this.

I approve as well, I am very curious to hear how it will sound in the mix with a humbucking high-output chug machine. I am thinking about running the baritone (A ESP/LTD Viper Baritone 300, which will have a Dimarzio D-Activator in the bridge by time we track) into a Line 6 Flextone II for nasty scooped, digitalgrosscrunchyass tone. Then we would use the Tele (probably one of those Xavier Jag/Tele with the GFS Fatbody bridge pickup, the resistance is like 10k, that I plan on buying anyway) into the Titan Modded 5150. Or maybe the other way around, depending. I think the tone of the Tele may actually contribute awesomely to the digitalnastytone but I'm not sure, would have to fuck around with that. I also want big, audible basstone. Fat as a motherfucker, maybe even thinking about tracking real bass with a ribbon mic (got this idea from you, and it sounds brilliant ), our drummer's dad has an SVT-3 with an Ampeg 8x10.![]() I have such a vision for this, and I'm just the dude who makes the animal noises.

SVT-3, Ampeg 8x10 (I actually far prefer the 4x10 toanwise, but who am I to say?) and a ribbon... okay, it would take some effort to fuck that up. If you want a big audible bass guitar, that is your ticket. I love the SVT-3. Assuming your bass isn't a total POS, that will get you watchu watchu watchu want, whatchu want. Take a DI for top end because that setup will have none. SVT-3 direct out sounds okay if you don't have a DI box or even if you do and want to take it post-pre/EQ. Turn the bastard way up and put the ribbon about a foot back. I'd use the baritone through the Line 6 for the superfuzz and the Tele/Titan 5150 for the raunch, off the top of my head. But try both and see what they do. |

I am not sure what bass will be used, this is stills something of a mystery. I was kinda thinking fat P-bass tones.. |

It's pretty hard to fuck up a P-Bass.

Indeed, it's just a great tone. I would maybe like a PJ better too, the Jazz bridge pickup would probably add a bit more midrange presence and cut. But the P pickup would be keeping that low-end solid.
