Official for acoustic gig since last one which was a while ago. Nice thing about acoustic gig is lack of carrying a ton of gear, and no chance on losing your hearing for the weekend. 3 Sets and decent pay ($200) I'll take that for $100 Alex. Sit down on some bar stools and basically just jam acoustically. We kinda take artistic license with some tunes, but they are all cover tunes and we have a music stand up there so we can just run off any number of tunes without having to memorize them. Cute chick bought us shots also. Note to rawkers, do an acoustic set and chix think yoar sensitive. :eyebrows:

IT's funny. My chick and were discussing this very thing. When I was actually making art, real music, original and had a following, we were getting paid shit. Very little, but were happy if we went home with 50 bux. Now I play covers just plodding through and minimun I will make is 50 usually around 80-200 for the night. There's something wrong here.

No only free shots but free drinks from the bar and people were still buying us shots..... (that makes the bar owners happy)

Bolded for emphasis.

Furrealz. Play originals and you are lucky if you can get gas money. Like, even if you are a band from out of state on tour. Shit is totally fucked up backwards.

That said, it is pretty rad that you are rawking and getting paid for it IMO, originals or not. Fact is, covers sell booze. Drunk people want to be able to sing along. And well, why shouldn't they?

yes but it doesn't feel the same. there not a great sense of, je ne sais quoi, accomplishment. But drunks, yes many of them, and they always can tell you what song you HAVE to do for them. "you guyssshh would totally rock Me N Julio Down by the Schoolyard"

I . AM . NOT . KIDDING .

I have not had!

BTW, that reminds me: there's a dyke bar here D. and I frequent that makes the mostest delicious chocolate martini, at least if you get the drag queen bartender. Drinking chocolate martinis at a lesbian bar... aww yeah.

I'll ask Mike (singer) he may remember, also did my version of Jockey. People seem to like it, but they are not sure what to make of my voice on it, since my voice is a bit different when talking, and even backups.
