Re: Feed Your Head: the "what are you reading" thread.
I made the mistake of hearing Stephen King talk once in an interview.
Now I can only imagine his writings being narrated by his voice. Really just makes it annoying more than anything else.
Koontzy is a cool guy, but he pretty much runs alongside King for me. I appreciate what they do, but I don't really like it. Then again, I don't like a lot of writers, specifically novelists. I am coming to find I am a much bigger fan of the article, essay and short story formats. Essentially, my childish attention span does not lend itself to properly enjoying a novel.

I haven't read him in years, to be honest, but I thought Dreamcatcher (the book, NOT THE MOVIE) was good, and liked From A Buick 8. And that was the last time I read Stephen King. I have a bit of an affection for The Stand and Needful Things, but that was many years ago. I read all of Stephen King and Dean Koontz up until my sophomore year of high school, literally their entire catalogs up until that point. Only a handful of things after that, but there were a few good ones, as per the aforementioned. Cam, do you like violence? Try Stephen Hunter. | | | | |
I just so happen to be a huge fan of violence.

Martian chronicles <3333
Amazing book, really opened my mind to alot of different ideas i had previously disregarded.
the martian chronicles, along with marijuana really helped me to grow up a little more this year. i may still be immature, but not nearly as immature as i was say a year or two ago.

Is it read by Keef himself?

Re: Feed Your Head: the "what are you reading" thread.
No, this would be awesome. It is read by Johnny Depp. Actually not bad at all.
I also bought the Hardcover version for my chick since she wanted to read it.

Re: Feed Your Head: the "what are you reading" thread.
Actually, i would totally be into Depp reading it too. Nice! Also i would imagine it would be nearly impossible to get keef to actually read through the whole thing to the audio book standard, in anything less than several hundred sessions. Would indeed be awesome, just not likely.

Re: Feed Your Head: the "what are you reading" thread.
The intro was read in cockney, but I'm sure it was depp doing Keith. It starts out Keith talking about a bust in the South which is quite amusing, then it goes back to his childhood etc, so I'm at at the part where he's forming the band with Mick so shit should start getting good.....

Re: Feed Your Head: the "what are you reading" thread.
I have not read a book since high school, because nothing really interests me until this. This book has to do with arguing the point of civilization being totally unsustainable and the demise of planet earth due to our industrial way of living , along with addressing what we can do about it. BLAH BLAH BLAH ya

Out-of-character post is out of character. I have something I got from Chris a couple years ago you might apprecerate, in a speculative sort of way, on that subject.

Re: Feed Your Head: the "what are you reading" thread.
Yay! WWI book! Back in the day i read a lot of Great War stuff. Lovely sketchy bit of conflict there. Myself, i have just over twenty books i want or am supposed, to read. Actually too many to decide. I am leaning towards this one solely based on its sweet cover art though: I read about a quarter of it when visiting my sister a while back, but she wouldn't let me take it away from her until just recently.

Re: Feed Your Head: the "what are you reading" thread.
Ooh.
This makes me realize I left some of my philosophy and anthropology reading on one of the shelves in my old office. I still have some D&D stuff from the guy who has my old job; I should drop it off and see if it's still there. No one touched that stuff for years. There's probably some quality research papers in there too.

Re: Feed Your Head: the "what are you reading" thread.
The book is worth buying. It is one of the funniest things I have ever read. The online bit is awesome, and it only gets better. I have a few people whom I need to lend this to, and then I'm thinking pass it around the forum.
