any good vst's that do that dirty, psychedelic, 60's hammond organ sound well? also looking for a mellotron of some sort. i think i wanna incorporate some organ into my band's music, it would sound pretty cool especially with metal shit.

Native Instruments B4 or the Vintage Organs pack would be very good for Hammond sounds. Vintage Organs is around $100 IIRC.

There are some free ones too, but i haven't looked into them much:

Mellotrons are a lot harder to find. I have a couple free ones. I like this one, but it is still not as cool or strange as a real mellotron would be:

Both very cool, I really like that mellotron though. I might put that to some use.

Yar, i used it on this: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_so ... ID=9829950

But moar in the background. I do intend to use it a lot more in the future. I went through a whole shitpile of things that were supposed to be mellotron sims, and it is the closest to almost believable that i found. :isay:

I still want a real one, but let's be honest, they just get moar and moar expensive, and i just get moar and moar broke. So...

Freeware VST is is!

I like that noise a lot. I can hear the Mellotron in there, very nice. I don't think I've heard this offering from you before.

It was from the BATTLE BEATS FOR FUTURE WARS thread. I didn't copy it into the first post though, as it is sort of a stalled work in progress.

They are in production again you know, as are new tape reels.

...but they are still not free. :wall:

Aye, the last i checked they were still... quite a ways... from free. The new ones IIRC go for more than some of the old ones even.

"FREE MELLOTRONS"

That would be just about the best sign ever.

I'll take two please.
