Re: NBD.
Oh! And I forgot to mention, it's got these sweet Grover tunes that I can just tell are really nice by the feel and design of them. Also the bridge is setup interestingly, the bridge plate beneath the saddles are angled to where the A and D strings are slightly higher than the E and G, sort of like a fiddle or violin. Other basses I played didn't seem to be like that, or nearly this extreme in their difference.
I like it though, it's comfortable.

Re: NBD.
If the fretboard has a rounder radius, techs will raise the middle strings (any string instrument) to compensate.
This ensures that fretting feels uniform from string to string, as opposed to having to press harder on the outside strings.
You don't see it as much on a lot of modern guitars because it seems fretboard radius has floated more towards 12" (which I like) and even flatter radiuses. Anything made by Fender made to replicate older vintage models will have a more round radius usually.

Re: NBD.
Actually it is funny you said, "like a fiddle or violin," because, while both are the same instrument, the conventional wisdom is that fiddle players grind there bridges flat (as opposed to the rounded violin bridge) to help play double stops (two strings at once).

Re: NBD.
That's what I was implying, and the bridge is not completely flat on fiddles IIRC, just less dramatically curved.

Re: NBD.
It entirely depends on the player and who is doing the work.

Is it the standard shape? My eye seems to indicate not...

Re: NBD.
I believe it's a little different from the standard P-Bass shape, but I think it's exaggerated in this specific picture.

Re: NBD.
Hotness. I'll let you know re: the pickguard when I have my gear horsetrading sorted out. I need to by a boutique Voxy combo and some other shizz in the immediate future that I've already budgeted for.
