But no really, i agree, there is something to be said for the regular shiny shiny.

It might be difficult to keep it from going dull then green though, and you might find that clearcoats will want to lift off the surface through seasonal heat/moisture changes.

Would look doap if it worked though.

I am totally into that blue one. I will put it away in my brain hole, and someday perhaps, revisit it with money.

I figure it would wear faster than a clear coat applied to wood, but the wearing might add a pretty nifty effect over time.

So i guess basically that is saying that pretty much everything will eventually allow the copper to darken, just a matter of how long it will give you. Something that is continually handled like a guitar, sounds like it might be more difficult than other things, to keep shiny.

You could always go with the thinner copper foil and wrap the guitar like these doods do with the aluminum style:




And just replace it if it starts to get ugly.

Though again, i think it is likely to dye your picking arm greenish where it rests on it.

It's a tough choice.

I should actually play one versus ogling them from afar. Really, it depends on the neck profile. The depth is the important factor. I'd rather have a Les Paul neck that's like a baseball bat than a longer scale Jackson or whatever shredder neck that's about 1/16th of an inch thick. The current versions seem to have beefier radii?
