Re: Give me your thoughts...
That sounds like a badass amp, but a lot of JMPs are out there...
Your LP is a little more unique. It is the one with the active mini-hums right?
I guess it depends on how happy you are with the LP. Would you like another LP better? Like one with passives, lighter weight, etc? Really it comes down to how attached you are to the guitar.
Also though, it depends on what the value of a JMP happens to be. I thought the 50w ones were still available every now and then on the relative cheap(like, sub $1k)? Granted, this one does look clean(though no gut shots).
I dunno.

Re: Give me your thoughts...
yes Chris, this is my thought. I have already mentioned to the guy I may have cold feet. I love recording with that guitar even though I have to change my settings etc to make up for the active pups. I keep thinking to just change out the pups on it and play it, but it is a heavy beast. Coming across some old wood is hard and I think I'm just going to sell some other crap I'm not using. That would make much more sense. I was starting to lean this way and I'm thinking to just save some cash for another JMP. Again, I'm not in the need for one with the Shiva which I am totally in love with, it's just a want to have one again.

Yes. Keep the LP. Though if you find a mid/late '70s JMP 2204, Canadian model with toggle switches and EL34s on HCAF, specifically if Dark Angel on there is selling it, purchase it post-haste. Twas mine, and sounds epic awesome. Also, really, really fuggin' loud.

Re: Give me your thoughts...
IIRC, tor's axe actually came that way off the line. Note the odd bridge as well. I forget what they called that model, but i think it started that way...

Re: Give me your thoughts...
the guy I bought it from said they EMG Overlends were stock, Gibson said they didn't sell them that way. so they must be aftermarket. But the battery have a really well done mount riveted in the back control cavity. The guy from EMG said they pups were from 77 or 78. very rare. I would prefer passives in it, I would like to do a Minihum in the bridge and a p90 in the neck for the variation in tones.

Re: Give me your thoughts...
a good friend of mine had a 76ish deluxe that'd been made basically worthless by being routed for normal buckers--- but i swear to god, it's the best sounding guitar on earth.. 5 ply laminated body, maple neck. i always tell him if he ever sells it and he doesn't give me right of first refusal i'll hunt him down and kill him for it. i wanna play it DAMMIT... but if you do off it.. lemme know

Re: Give me your thoughts...
@Chris - I believe I mentioned that I was told the pups were original, so your memory my be recalling this. @Dan - yes the HEAVY pancake body and maple neck is super fuckin awesome. I knew once I took it back out of the case and played it, It. Could. Not. Leave. also, a Les Paul that can fall off the stand and not snap the headstock
