Nice "The Goggles They Do Nothing O Caster" there. :isay:

A floyd would definitely put it over the top. But it is hardly worth a floyd unless you put a big ol' Real (expensive) Floyd in anyhoo. Otherwise you won't be able to tuneit/keepitintune well enough to use it for anything.

In many/most cases, the fixed bridge is the better choice, though much less "bitchin' looking", in a purely aesthetic sense.

:red:

Plus I would never really use a floyd anywho.

And the body is drilled for the TOM bridge, so despite it's unbitchiness it is what it is. Also, it is pretty solid for the rawkin' I do. Also, it will have a top mounted strat input, which I forgot to include in Kisekae :red:

Now I just got to figure out the pickguard.

I wonder what it would look like with a mirror guard instead of a body-matched one ....

:nods: This assaults my eyes, especially with the mirror guard. Nice.

Yeah I can't decide between the slicker looking matched guard or the offensively obnoxious mirror guard. The guitar IS MEANT to be obnoxious, so I am tempted.

Mirror for maximum obnoxion, if that's your aim.

Yes, I like your most recent design.

Note though, I think a Fender style guitar will need a good amount of angle on the neck to suit a tune-o-matic bridge. Like the neck pocket would be shaped such that the neck tilts away, so the strings will slope down to the nut in a decent way.

The guitar was already built for a TOM, it came stock with it. :D

It is an old SX strat I have already taken apart once before. Essentially doing the same thing I did last time, but I'm also painting it.

But you are correct. I used a slight angled shim in the neck pocket to angle the neck back a bit, otherwise the action gets progressively higher the further up the neck you go. Kind of a PITA, but it is stable when setup right.

What pickup do you have in mind?

I haven't settled on one yet actually, a pretty hot one though.

Maybe that GFS EVH pickup, but I want to look around at some other options first.

EVH pickup... pretty solid choice for a single pickup strat. :nods:

What manner of music with this guitar would you create?

This is going to be my heavier music guitar. It will be the only solid body I have with a 'bucker, and thus will be used with the more extreme settings of my fuzz: a.) because the higher output will push that fuzz the way it wants to be pushed (it really likes a hotter signal coming in) and b.) because it will be significantly quieter than singles or the buckers in the Talman semi-hollow.

It will also probably get used in most of my recordings.
