Post subject:  Guise, I want a 7 string.
Something fairly cheap (<$1k) with a 26.5" scale, or longer... and preferably with passives although I'd settle for a 707 loaded fiddle. But I cannot for the life of me decide which one I want...


BTW, I'm probably going to tune it up a half step.

I cant remember any comments on their quality but the Agiles at Rondo Music seemed interesting and come in a few flavors IIRC.

Im in my phone right now so I don't feel like looking.

These are much fancier than anything I have got from Rodno, but in my experience the only thing I would really say is be prepared to set it up. The return policy was always friendly, don't know if they have changed it, so worst comes to worst if you hate it you aren't taking a huge hit.

That thing is beastly though.

They were big on HCAF, so you could probably make a thread there for more/better opinions.

I'll do that. I know Keith Merrow used to use one on his first 2 albums... so that tells me basically what they sound like with those weirdo passive pickups they use (Cepheus? I think that's what they're called)

I don't really have much more options in my price range... except for Schecters but I hate the necks on Schecters... Like a Tele neck but thicker and wider.

I actually don't mind the Schecter/ESP neck profile- it has a greater front-to-back depth vs. side-to-side width, which I like. The usual skinny necks hurt my hand and wrist.

Poking around their site, the nine-string thing has me curious. I've been intrigued by extended-range instruments for a while now. As guitar-bass hybrid noisemakers.

In West Virginia? The classifieds consist of churches selling off cheap PA gear, and Rouge acoustics. :hypno:


I'm permabant on HC, so I can't actually PM the guy selling the Agile. I'd rather have a new one, anyway. I haven't bought a brand new guitar in like 5 years. :lol:

An Ibanez 7421XL would be a great one on a budget.


The rondo stuff i've tried has been hit or miss.


www.guitarlogistics.com has some cool stuff a little out of your range.


The Schecter Suicide Silence 7 string tele is badass, as is the Peavey Devin Townsend model.

CL classifieds here are utterly dismal as well. Not quite that bad but largely the most boring things they want way too much for. I like when stuff shows up for more than what it goes for new. :lol:
