I diggit, for its bringing to me mind the oddshapings of the Rickenbasses. Which look shaped somewhat wrongly to me all by themselfs, but look considerably more badass attached to folks in bassemizing action. |

Yeah, WTF Gibson? Shouldn't this have some hideous finish, gimmicky feature or useless non-feature?  This is a plain natural finish, tortoise guard, amp-style knobs and an upmarket bridge. Also, dot inlays that look like understated mother-of-pearl. There is nothing visually wrong with this whatsoever.  And re: Chris and Rickenbackers- I think this looks way less wonky than a Rick. Which on their own are weird and... I hesitate to call them ugly, because agreed- put them in someone's hands- especially a someone who can play- and they look like a proper battle implement. I don't know if that's just visual association or what? |

They are about $1k at Sweetwater it seems. Not a bad price relative to other Gibson's, but not cheap by any means. It does seem like they actually tried to make it not suck with the bridge and plek'd nut and such. On the subject of Ric basses, that is one of my dream instruments. I've wanted one since I started playing bass but could never afford one. |

That looks niiice  i eagerly await the epiphone version.I've always liked the look of rickenbacker basses as well, way better than the normal guitars which look horrible. |
