How experienced are you with fitting necks and all the other fun things that come with guitar building? Not to dissuade you, because building/assembling your own guitar is awesome, but it isn't usually a money saver and if you have never done it before you might not get the best results. If money isn't an issue than whatevs, I has done it and I enjoyed it. If you haven't done it before ... Assembling a guitar isn't exactly difficult. But if you don't get everything fit and matched perfectly then more often than not the guitar is a big let down. Fortunately, the tele is probably the EASIEST of designs to work with, especially with the wide variety of almost-universal parts for them. So as long as your are cool with having to fit stuff, having to take parts on and off repeatedly, tuning to test to detune to adjust to tune again to test etc. etc. then you should be fine. |
