New Project day
I found a dud on a Long Island FB thread looking to unload a 1984 LP studio without pups or electronics, but bridge, hsc etc... for best offer. I gave him $300. I have a ton of Gibson/dimarzio/duncan Humbuckers for a LP, and it will be fun rebulding. Decent shape, not major dings, no cracks. It's black and has fading gold hardware. I bought a wiring setup for about $40 so i will be in about $350. I need to find some pickup rings and I will be set. Just need to find the time to put her together. I though it would be nice to have a real LP beater.....

Re: New Project day
It'll probably end up nicer than a modern LP right off the line.*
*Based on my experience of looking at modern production-line LPs all day.

That is a fine black Lester. I didn't know the Studio line dated back that far. HNLPD!

Re: New Project day
yeah, just finished it. Has a thin neck which I've never done on a Les. I have to sell it though, matter of fact already had my buddy into it, but now after playing it I wish I didn't tell him he could have it. plays nice. I put a 500t in the bridge and some Duncan in the neck. I don't remember which duncan I've had it for years and can't recall what it was. It was in the neck of my RG550. plays great, it was refinished at one time, I think it was white before from a few chips. The paint job is not bad, but it is certainly not Gibson. Was not wet sanded or polished.

Re: New Project day
Overall I bought the guitar & hsc for $300, had pups around, bought wiring and pots for about $45 and some time. Not bad for about $350. Sold it to one of my best friends for $450, he wanted to pay me for the pickups I put in it. Would have loved to keep it, but I am working on broke. FML
