I do not even have any idea what strings are on my bass at all. Whatever it left the SX factory with, er, several years ago?

That is what I had on it as well.

Yeah, they are pretty damn light gauge, but not bad strings at all.

These feel like POWAHLIENS!

Hmm. I don't know if i would be into that. I have a weirdly light touch on all of my instruments. I used to be a brute, 12s/13s on the guitars, drumcorps sticks on the drums, breaking bass strings one a week, etc... But now, not so much.

Whatever the ghettochinese SX strings are on the bass i have now, i get along with pretty well. I suppose gaugewise, they are likely to be some sort of sissylight. :idk:

That is a very interesting concept.... a 4 string tuned like a 5 string.... whenever i get a bass in the distant future I just might have to try that :isay:

Yeah.

Well these are not really very thick strings, considering I am tuned to BEAD. They would be considered your medium gauge 5-stringers. There are always lighter gauges for the tuning.

I think you might like to mess around with it just for the awesome bassy punch.

Then again, bass strings are fucking priiiiiicey. Goddamn.

How much of the nut did you have to ream out for that B string? Would going back to the previous gauge mean low E buzzing or a new nut?

I took a little bit out of the nut, the B sits nicely but it could be a little more snug. I didn't take any more out because I thought about that as well, but I figure I might file it out to fit the 130, etc and grab a new nut if I decide to go back to standard (which would mean I bought a five string.

The A (E) string was an issue on my Jazz; the 100 kept popping out of the nut.

I might keep the thing and replace the pickups. Maybe MECs like what's in Warwicks. But I digress.

Also, clips nao. :red:

I'm hoping to get some recording done tonight or tomorrow. School is whipping my ass all over the place.
