to keep tuned to standard. I decided to try Thurston Moore's tuning from most of the new Sonic Youth album, The Eternal. He tunes to DDAF#AD for a good portion of the album. I replaced my A string with another Low E and tuned my tele up and holy shit I am in love. It is like this tuning was made for the way I play (possibly because one of my idols uses it ), plus it makes low chords sound really deep and chunky. I think I need to hop on getting that Jazzmaster a little bit sooner ... And before you ask I already have some ideas for some clippage, but I need to stop playing "Poison Arrow" first. |

That it is, indeed. But it sounds nifty. Sonic Youth uses a fucking lot of weird ass tunings. http://www.sonicyouth.com/mustang/tab/tuning.html Like, an obscene amount of tunings. I got curious and started messing around with a bunch of them but this one I really liked. For some sense it just works for the way I play. It lets me run that line between rhythm and lead guitar really comfortably. Plus it lets you just bar a lot of stuff . Nifty when I am trying to play and sing at the same time. |

multiple guitars is always moar gooder. I bring one tuned dgdgbe for a few Nirvana songs in one cover band, also works as a backup in case of string breakage at a gig. I Hate tuning between songs.... |
