OK so I've had my 339 for a few months and actually never played it at practice or a gig.

Until last night.

FUCK.

AWESOME.

Plays much like a Lester, but the ease for controlled feedback was great. I also used the Rebel 20(through my deluxe 2x10 cab) last night and it really, REALLY takes pedals well. The 339 will not make it to a live show as I am too hard on guitars live. (tis a shame I know) Awesome rawk tonez.

Isn't that like a mini archtop? That sounds like it'd be a lot of fun to play.

The body is just a bit bigger than my LP's but smaller than a 335

I've always wanted to play one but I don't know if any stores around here even carry Gibson guitars.

Controlled feedback on a 335 (don't know about a 339) is a myth. With my Twin cranked, maybe. About AC/DC gain levels is the max that guitar can take before it starts squealing like a stuck pig.

That's because AC/DC sucks.

I could see that. I was only using a Rebel 20 pushed with an OCD. I had nice even tones feedback when I wanted it, but I could easily see how it would get out of hand cranked more. The gain was decent, more than AC/DC, more modern sounding.

Perhapse you could use the feedback thingy to your advantage... If for some reason you are at a gig and you are trying really hard to get feedback and just arn't getting it switch to the 339 :idk:

Next guitar will probably be some kind of semi-hollow, very classy things they are

I liked how it would fade to feedback on certain notes but I had to be quick with the volume knob or the thing would start squealing pretty much instantly.

I play at a reasonable volume live, and I'm still able to control my feedback well enough, and as I said I am too hard on guits to play something too nice live. The 339 will stay at practice and recordings only.
