Idk, it sounds great and i'm usually happy with it, but every once in a while I go thru a phase where I wanna sell it for something more modern/versatile ala VHT or whatnot. It has an amazing wonderful, tight snarky thrash tone, and can be very vintage and old school sounding but i don't know if that's the kind of thing i'm looking for. I've had it for almost two years, and I have to admit the same tone is getting very, very old. I want something modern sounding, deeper, more throaty, maybe even a 5150 but with versatility and switching on the fly. It may be just gas but i don't know, i need something new !

The same tone would get very old to me as well if all I played was the same stuff and only ever used the one tone... :red:

You've got a Mark III, right? There's lotsa sounds in that box if you want them.

VHT's gonna be even tighter and a hella lot drier than the Mark. And don't get a 5150. Not that it's a bad amp, but everyone has one.

One trick pony. I had one, as you guys know, for a very long time. No matter what you do, the fucker still sounds like a 5150.


Even the lightly distorted shit sounds like a 5150... the clean tones? 5150 without much distortion... that's all it does. Good amp, though. Loud as shit and they sit nicely in the mix until you start trying to EQ out the massive 2k and 500hz spikes they have.


An XXX does the 5150 thing, and so many more things... and they cost about the same.
