OK amp sounds unreal. bast clean evar. Very warm almost dark OD channel, I prefer the tone that way so it's a plus. I was tweaking it for my OCD which had a few problems with it I think I got close with it but I will need to do some more tweaking in the band situation (which was where I was twiddling knobs today) I'm thinking the OCD may not match with the Bogner, but I will fuck with it some more.

While I don't think it's quite the best clean ever, it is high up there on the list. I could have told you all of this. :red: :snax:

They're nice. I like them for a reason. Great clean, thick dark dirty channel. They sound like the color orange to my ears. I don't know why. I like my gain tones to sound orange, so I really like them. Never boosted it; didn't feel the need at the time. :idk:

This is accurate, I think. I can't name a 34-based map that beats it off the top of my head.

EDIT: Hot Cat. :red: The Shiva has a nicer gain channel in my limited Hot Cat experience. At least, a lot easier to dial in.

Voxy. Very Voxy. So if that's your cuppa joe re: clean toan, you'll like it. I just happen to be a big fan. I found the Hot Cat's gain channel less-than-intuitive to dial in, where the Shiva is easyeasy. It's also probably my favorite gain channel as far as gain channels go.

yeah I love the gain as well, but being in a cover band thing, I need to work on doing a pedal to gets a bit more djent at the press of a pedal while keeping my overall tone

I will need to just futz with a couple of options during the week to see what I can do. I don't need the juga juga chug chug in but maybe 2-3 tunes.

I always engaged the internal boost on the Shiva when I used it for my metal gig. It did the trick nicely. Bear in mind I was hellaciously loud though. :idk:

Oh that would work, but I am trying to not take off heads. And we are playing smaller clubs. I will try a couple of options, I should have enough dirt pedals to do what I want.

OK I AM IN THE FUCK LOVE

I would fellate Rienhold if he were here. :dildo: :D

I played with a couple OD's last night, I used the WH Pork Loin with just a bit of added flavor,m not really much drive just a tad, on top of my gain tone and it sounded really excellent, just creamy rich sounding EL34 flavor. I also took my OCD and played with the setting to take the Gain channel and grit it up enough to get a Mesa"y" well I'll say instead a 6L6'y" dirty tone. I think I did a fair job on it and am very happy with it. I have a Allums Modded Sd-1 on the board but I didn't use it last night and don't think I will need it, so I can put the trem back on the board for now.

That is fucking cool man.

Time for clips. :cop:

As an aside, i currently have a friend's hotrodded JCM800 in my basement. Just messing with it a tad, reminds me how much i enjoy the no-BS rockness of that design.

Structurally(or, schematically), it is not terrible different from the AC30 architecture, just with a bit more gain available, and a (much) less sparkleviolent clean. Next time i come across $600, i am probably going to build a crossover AC30 with modded JCM800 extra gainz (and the EL34s!) innit. Like keep the two input jcm style, but have the low input be basically AC30, and the high input be that extra gainstage. Maybe something like the JCM fixed bias. Though i do like the cathode bias vox style output section, i have been enjoying the added tightness of my friend's JCM. I would be curious to experiment with the vox PI, and the JCM output. I say.

I'll say it again, I'd buy that amp.

What was just described would be more or less my ideal rawk amp.
You name dropped my two favorite rock maps and talked about mixing them for the specific reasons that I like both.

Sure, sure, but would you all pay $1200 for one? :red:

IMO, the pricerange makes too many other amps options. Unless you are one prone to DIY/not pay for labor.

But yeah, i think it it is likely to be pretty much the king of amps, for what i like, and someday i will build one to test the theory. :isay:
