Post Bass Amps
So, in light of acquiring a bass guitar (a beat up Fender MIM Jazz bass that sounds/plays great for $30), I need a bass amp. Something good, doesn't have to be pro level, decently priced, not a practice amp, can be combo or head/cab. I'd like a bit of a Mastodon/Norma Jean tone out of it, but again not really important considering I haven't played with many bass amps in my time.

Options I've considered:
Orange Bass Terror
Acoustic Amps (the brand)
Mark Bass Lil Head
Ampeg SVT (cheaper ones)

Any input would be awesome

Hard to go wrong with Ampeg.

I have an Ashdown, I got it cheap and it does what I need, if I need a bit of dirt I use a Boss Bass Overdrive. :idk:

SVT-3 Pro, used. This is a great amp.

I owned and gigged a Markbass Mark III for a year or so. It's very very clean. Like, superclean. No grit in that box. Fantastic little thing that fits in my laptop bag, tons of power in a tiny package... No dirt, no dice. Ampeg and a nice pedal or two.

I'm not sure how much I like TS-types in front of a bass map. The low end cut is a bit much. I did like my Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive though, if only because I could dial the girth back in. Same deal with the OCD. Though I really need to try a proper bass distortion box.

Actually, the shitty plain old DS-1 sounds decent on a bass. That's all it's good for.

I'd get a Sansamp Bass Driver, I love that pedal.

I found out today the bridge pickup is dying, so my buddy is selling me his quarter pounder for another $30, so that'll be cool.

Now, for the list of repairs:
Pickup install
Sand down/clearcoat finisn
set up/string

And then I shall have my monster. :azn:

I'm going to check out one of those Mesas, and I found out I can get an Acoustic B600H and cab for DIRT fucking cheap at work. I kinda wanna get a different cab than the acoustic amp one tho, 4x10 preferably.

I was just putting numbers up until I could check the post count from tone settings, which I did Tuesday or Wednesday. I know we all had a shitload of posts from the original maps and if we could bring those numbers over I would, but since we are recent refugees from TS I brought over those numbers. :huzzah:
