I made a trade for a little Vox AC4TV

Kinda cute little thing. 4 watts/1watt/1/4 watt. Get a nice drive on it when it's cranked. I didn't try the external speaker jack yet, but hearing that's when this sounds very good. One or two of the bands I sit in on, I might be able to use this one, they play small places with not much room.

OOh. I am very curious about those. Folks over at HC talk them up on occasion, but i remain half skeptical, as they also love the Vox Pathfinder 15R over there, an amp which i hated enough to destroy.

But i do like the idea of the little AC4. I would like that as a tiny little practice head i think.

yeah I've only had it about an hour, so the noodling is limited. but I do like the tone at 1/4 watt and dimed. just a simple tone knob, volume and watt selector. No pesky bass/treble/mid/eq/presence/cut/boost/whatever.

Plug in, make tones. :rawk:

I really want to get my hands on one of those.

I need a Vox. I have the little Vox AD30VT that, which has two programmable channels, and I just use the AC30 model for cleans and the AC15 model for dirty toanes. All the other models are pretty meh.

They're not the only people I've heard talk up the Pathfinder 15R, honestly. :hypno:

I am curious myself about this little MicroVox. I'd rather jam through this at home than my Pod into the stereo. It is quite a nice stereo, to be fair, but...

I used to jam with a Digitech Grunge mixer output straight to the stereo back in the day.

It actually sounded pretty good, in retrospect.

I always thought those little Voxes looked righteous as fuck.
I'd be real curious to play one.

yes, I guess I must post teh piktars.

fwiw, I plugged it into my GT Speaker Emulator last night and cranked it into my mixer and headphone for a little silent practice. Very nice tone out of this. I think I must try it on a 2x12 combo see the toanz that will fly at me...

:huzzah:

Indeed that is what I was ranting about.

Interesting ... have you had much of a chance to mess with it through the 10"? I really hear the amp shines through a nice cabinet, so I am just thinking of grabbing the head version when I sell my Vox modeler, then switching out the speaker in my bros cab from a H30 to a Greenback to use with both the Vox TV4 and the Orange TT interchangeably.

yeah I actually used it quite a bit with the 10. The 10 sounds like a 10 and a cheap one at that. But it is so small it's nice to be able to grab and go as well. Yeah it does shine with a nice cab.

also, as I go through a lot of equipment, just see if I am getting rid of mine before you buy. I'm liking this right now, but you know me in a month I'll be on to something else.

I really hate trying amps in GC or wherever. I would rather buy at a decent price play it, see how I like it, and either keep it or sell it.

I would definitely be interested in the 10" combo if you decide to sell it.
